While my liberty gently weeps
Two polls today illustrate just how the dumb-downed America has become. A recent Zogby poll of U.S. troops in Iraq finds that
"85 percent-- said the U.S. mission is 'to retaliate for Saddam's role in the 9/11 attacks.'"
Back home, a recent Synovate survey not only found that
"only one in four Americans can name more than one of the five freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment", but that
"about one in five people thought the right to own a pet was protected".

rant: It's distressing but it doesn't shock me. And people say that "We're not affected by the things we see" when they're defending porn.
Hell, we've managed to dumb down the U.S. citizens to the point that they think that Saddam had anything at all to do with 9/11, but no, we're not affected by what we see, we're all rational, clear thinking adults who are above influence from any sort of media. /rant
