Back

Hello, computer. I missed you the week I was gone! Wow, I have a lot of reading to catch up on.

Apparently the world did not stop being sexist, racist, heterosexist and classist just because I wasn't paying attention to it. I should know this, as covering my eyes when I was one year old did not make me invisible. Damn! That would have been cool.

That would have been cool.

But I'm very glad you're back! Did you have a good trip?

Yeah. We took the kids to their grandparent's house and flew halfway across the country to go neighborhood shopping. We had the city down, but wanted to get a good feel for the specific areas and their personalities, quirks, accessibility, etc. We also had an agent show us some houses around the area we were interested in. After a week we couldn't find anything we didn't like about the city or neighborhood, and feel more secure in the feeling that we can afford to move there.

Reason? General quality of life improvement, gained with affordability and thus more financial staability, accessibility, and great 1920's houses we could never afford on the east coast. Now all we need is the job!

Yikes, Laurelin! You made me smile at 7am! I wake up at 7am and it takes me at least two hours and lots of caffeine before I can do that. (Damn, I hope I didn't strain a face muscle because of the lack of proper warm up.)

I'm glad I made you smile Manxome!

It was about 11am where I am when I wrote that, so I can't pretend I was up early... ;)

I think that's great! So many people think you only move if the job is already lined up, or if you're moving closer to family. That quality of life issue is *huge*, IMO. So good for all of you-it sounds like you are heading into a great situation.

Thanks, SE. I think it will have a major impact on stress in general. I'm really really tired of getting by, not loving where I am, all that. We shouldn't have to wait, and if we can get the job, we don't have to. It would be about time!

What state is it, or is that a secret?

And welcome back!

It sounds silly to say it's a secret, but yeah, for now it is. If we're able to follow through with it, we'd be going from a red area in a purple state to a blue area in a red state. Intriguing!
